Composer & pianist Apollonio Maiello juxtaposes aesthetic elements from a lot of genres.
By collaborating with renowned artist both in music and the performing arts he has appeared as composer and pianist on festivals all around the world such as the Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ (Netherlands), the Grachtenfestival (Netherlands), Stony Brook University New York (USA), the Felicja Blumenthal Festival in Tel Aviv (Israel), the Theaterhaus Stuttgart (Germany), Korzo Theater (Netherlands), the Teatro grande di Brescia (Italy) and the Heidelberger Schlossfestspiele and the Bayerischer Rundfunk (Germany).
As a composer he has been commissioned by the Radio Filarmonisch Orkest (NL), Ensemble Sentieri Selvaggi (IT), Nymphéas Trombone Quartet (NL), Sputter Box (USA), the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra (USA) the Orlando Contemporary Chamber Orchestra (USA), Intercontinental Ensemble (NL), ShoutHouse Ensemble (USA), Zemlinsky Chamber Orchestra (NL), Hear Now Berlin (GER), NEMA Ensemble (IT) and Steinway-Artist Alexandra Sostmann (GER). In 2022 he worked with grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Becca Stevens as an arranger.
He has been awarded prizes at the ‘’International symphonic composition competition Michal Kleofas Oginski 2020’’, ‘’Steinway&Sons Jazz-Piano Preis 2016 Stuttgart’’ & the ‘’Nationaler Yamaha Jazzklavier Wettbewerb 2017’’.
