Apology

Apology is a stark, emotionally raw project that emerged as a personal and artistic reckoning for Atticus Allen (Kyle Willey) following the loss of his father and later close friend and creative partner, Adam Cooley. Born from grief, memory, and the unresolved weight of absence, Apology operates in a space where ambient textures, field recordings, spoken word, and minimalist noise collide—offering an unfiltered transmission of sorrow, guilt, love, and spiritual searching.

This project diverges from the crushing density of Robe., instead embracing vulnerability, decay, and silence as compositional tools. Apology is less a band than a confession—a ritual of remembrance and release where every sound is deliberate, every pause meaningful. Influenced by dream logic, degraded media, and internal hauntings, Apology explores the thin boundary between the personal and the universal.

Each release be it a collaboration or a solo outing serves as an offering: to the dead, to the listener, and to the artist himself. It is music as mourning, as forgiveness, as confrontation. In collaboration with select artists and using archival materials, Allen constructs sonic memorials—fragments of thought, unfinished letters, unresolved emotions. Apology is not about closure. It is about carrying what cannot be left behind, and finding strange beauty in that burden.
