Apricus is a Nashville-based act consisting of multi-instrumentalist, producer, mixer, and mastering engineer Will Mikkelson.
Originally from Orlando, FL Will got his start in music in 2009 as the lead singer for the Rock band Vera. Vera released one EP and did some light touring before breaking up in 2010. It is rumored that they waved farewell to fans and simply vanished into the ether during their last show, presumably being taken up to Rock heaven. But we will never really know.
An Avatar of Will, or possibly a reincarnated Will continued to write music over the years eventually turning his attention towards the engineering side of recording. In 2015 he moved to Nashville, TN to attend the Blackbird Academy, a studio engineering program hosted by the famed Blackbird Studios. After graduating he began two internships, one with the grammy-winning mixer Ryan Hewitt, and another with grammy-nominated producer and mixer Bobby Holland. After these internships and for the next 6 years Will has been living and working in Nashville as a freelance producer, mixer, and mastering engineer for local Nashville acts.
In 2017, Will began to feel the itch to write and record original music again. He began the long process of writing and recording a full-length album in his personal studio, exploring and processing themes of grief, love, and healing. On February 26th, 2021 he released the first single "You Don't Know" and the full album is slated for release in April of 2021.
