Arbor Green

Arbor Green is an indie-alt-folk band based in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and is the brainchild of singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ali Begg. Born and reared in a wee village in the West Highlands, Ali was lucky enough to start his life learning from and playing with some of the finest traditional musicians in the country.

Whilst rooted in the Scottish folk landscape, Ali&#39;s songs have increasingly sought to invoke the harmony-laden spirit of the North American alt-country scene as well. Arbor Green&#39;s debut record <a href="spotify:album:6HQ7n7gAf8fWCDSp1ZhMUj" data-name="As We Grow">As We Grow</a> released on 4 March 2022 to positive reception, earning comparisons to the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:3t3q007skKvwNaodwZx8W8" data-name="Hamish Hawk">Hamish Hawk</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2cxi12PeZmsDkSlJi1slRp" data-name="Admiral Fallow">Admiral Fallow</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:49EgLhJzWZZMwlCHlL088h" data-name="Malcolm Middleton">Malcolm Middleton</a>. Recorded and produced by Ali in various home studios, it features a number of musical collaborators, co-conspirators and wonderful friends including James MacKintosh (<a href="spotify:artist:4ss7Ucuu7OxizKCmtlIkQT" data-name="Shooglenifty">Shooglenifty</a>), <a href="spotify:artist:3yHCWXaFFprQxdSr9MUh1d" data-name="Hannah Fisher">Hannah Fisher</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:1xdB9gS1NrKEYgZUEfoqIw" data-name="Idlewild">Idlewild</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5SP6T04F8Ic9oftMVfdKkp" data-name="King Creosote">King Creosote</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:313Xqjb7z7JBYcHgWiLvUv" data-name="Roddy Woomble">Roddy Woomble</a>), Beldina Odenyo (<a href="spotify:artist:431xS12Nmz9HTyYR4femNf" data-name="Heir of the Cursed">Heir of the Cursed</a>), <a href="spotify:artist:0kxKz9Ycxm2pm9Mmluf0eT" data-name="A Maxwell">A Maxwell</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0TEv883CrILzc7SI531CcL" data-name="Graham Flett">Graham Flett</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5ldLyV3WZ8WQKnH5cSWXPu" data-name="Brian McAlpine">Brian McAlpine</a>.

As of 2022 the permanent Arbor Green lineup consists of Ali Begg (guitars and vocals), Thomas Caldwell (guitars and vocals), Anna Bradley-Scott (Fiddle and Keyboards), Sam Bradley (bass and vocals) and Simon Gibb (drums).
