Aren’t is the project of Fionn Richards, a Meanjin-based artist. The simple vision of Aren’t’s alt-folk music is to write and sing what feels pure and true. Every sound and word has been pored over with curiosity and love, resulting in this uniquely personal music. Following a history of writing in a wide range of genres, Aren’t is a return to a softer, melodic arrangement. The tunes are carried primarily by voice, nylon-string guitar, cello, piano and simple percussion - all performed and written by Fionn.
