Ariel Taveras was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, to Dominican parents and raised in the small city of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Growing up in a Hispanic Pentecostal church, Ariel’s faith and love for music were deeply intertwined from a young age.
When he was 12, during one of the hardest seasons of his life, he felt God’s calling — a moment that shifted his focus completely toward his faith. Music soon became the language through which he connected most deeply with God. In high school, Ariel joined the choir, where they earned multiple awards in competitions, and at just 15, performed with the choir at the legendary Carnegie Hall. By 16, he was leading worship at his local church — an experience that placed him among gifted and anointed mentors who helped shape his sound and spiritual walk. That same year, he began writing songs inspired by Scripture and the experiences of his life, giving voice to his personal journey of faith.
Blending heartfelt worship with his roots and personal testimony, Ariel’s music reflects a journey of redemption, faith, and purpose. ‘The struggles in my life brought me closer to God and then close to music. The early years of my life really defined the type of artist I’ve been — but most of all, the person I’ve become.’
