Arnold Jackson was a band with a sitcom character's name, based in Chicago in the early aughts. Formed by friends Bryson Meunier (aka Black Bryson (guitar/vocals)), Jim Baur (James Spence (bass guitar)), and Matt Shoaf (drums) in 2001, arnold jackson's only goal was to play the neighborhood indie rock bar, The Empty Bottle, where they saw The Strokes open for Guided by Voices and White Stripes before they were on MTV. They did that, twice, made two full length albums of original songs and a noisy cover of Private Dancer, and disbanded when their real lives took over in 2005. Bryson now records as Mumble Monkey.
