Arrowbird is the project of singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Ray Vavasis. Formerly the lead singer and co-writer of Sydney's disbanded 'The Sweet Apes', Ray is known for her powerful vocal performance and energy on stage. With the desire for more experimental and independent endeavors, Ray has spent the last few years transforming her acoustic demos into fully realised songs that contain orchestral, acoustic, tribal and ambient elements. Growing up with parents who are musicians in the Greek Music community, Ray has been exposed to ethnic music from a young age. The influence of her culture shines through her playful melodies and rhythms.
