The mysterious Art House is an intriguing melting pot of influence. Born in Brooklyn (but currently located in North Carolina), the 21-year-old cites inspirations like Kanye West, My Chemical Romance, Kid Cudi, and Seshollowaterboyz (who he has opened for several times). With his collective, #SCARECROW6 (members include KAMI FONZO, MVRXXN, YUNG HAZY, DIPLORIAN, CLEARLY, Scuba Steve & SUPER LUKE), he represents creativity and independence and a world where the industry tries its hardest to snatch up any emerging talent; they direct their own videos and handle merchandise and booking by themselves. His self-professed “undying love” for music begins with his childhood, when he was put on to some of his favorite artists by his parents and even joined a marching band. From there, he eventually started rapping and has put out multiple projects including an EP produced by Nedarb Nagrom. With hard beats and skillful flow, Art House is an interesting talent and it’s absolutely worth your time to enter his world. It’s tough to do his eccentric persona and music justice through text, though, so it’s best to let the music speak for itself – and it speaks loudly.
