Koenraad Vanderschaeve is a Belgium based pianist, keyboardplayer & composer. He started playing classical piano when he was only 9 years old. As a teenager he played in small bands with school fellows and so gained growing interest in popular rock & pop music.
During the late eighties and beginning of the nineties, Koenraad was mostly active in pop and electronic music and published several albums under the artist name Micado.
Further on through the late nineties and beginning of the new millennium, time was divided between performing live in pop, rock bands and composing music for theater productions and solo artists.
Around 2010, Koenraad started his own recording studio Artron specialising in recording small classical and jazz combo's. This stirred up his interest in jazz music, resulting in studying jazz at the Kortrijk conservatory.
At present, beside performing live with different jazz combo's, he composes music with a mix of electronics and acoustic instruments using jazz influences as a guide. Recently, this led to creating Artrofonic as an artist name. Call it electro jazz, nu jazz, whatever...
