Aruman began with Arief’s songwriting in 2018, born out of a simple desire to keep creating. His songs became a place for restless thoughts, quiet affection, and the kind of nostalgia that often lingers long after a moment has passed. What started as a personal pursuit gradually found new meaning when Dhika joined on rhythm guitar and Erlangga on vocals, turning individual ideas into a shared musical journey.
The band took its full shape with Faisal Rafsa on drums and Erga on lead guitar. With different influences and a shared instinct for melody, the five members found their way toward a sound of their own: warm, melodic pop rooted in honest feelings. By early 2025, Aruman had begun to take shape as more than a casual project, growing through late-night conversations, jam sessions, and songs that felt a little closer to home.
The name Aruman, inspired by the meaning “harum” or lingering, reflects the band’s hope that their music leaves a lasting impression. Centered on strong vocal harmonies, memorable pop melodies, and the flowing character, Aruman’s music explores themes of love and nostalgia through a collective creative process. As they continue to grow, Aruman stands as a warm and sincere new voice in Indonesia’s pop landscape that simple, heartfelt, and meant to linger.
