Aryeh Naftaly

Aryeh Naftaly, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer, was born in San Francisco, California in 1961 and moved to Israel in 1981. Since then he has created a body of work unparalleled in the field of Alternative Jewish Music (a term he himself coined) - including 18 albums of original songs in Hebrew and English, the first-ever recording of The Song of Songs according to the original 3000-year-old music, a rock opera based on the Book of Esther and much more. As a solo artist and with his bands N Safeq and The Elevators, Naftaly has performed thousands of times and accompanied some of the greatest stars of the Israeli/Jewish music world, including Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and Ehud Banai. Aryeh is currently working on a new album of original songs in English - a sort of spiritual travelogue documenting his never-ending journey to the Holy Land - stay tuned!
