Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen

Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen brings his “ravishing…otherworldly” (Opera News) instrument to repertoire spanning the Baroque to the contemporary. Acclaimed as a “young star” and “complete artist” by the New York Times, the "extravagantly gifted” countertenor is “poised to redefine what’s possible for singers of this distinctive voice type” (San Francisco Chronicle). Nussbaum Cohen counts among his career highlights the GRAMMY® Award-winning recording of Kenneth Fuchs' Poems of Life with the London Symphony Orchestra, and numerous additional recordings.

Grand Prize winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, Nussbaum Cohen made his debut at the Met as Rosencrantz in Brett Dean's Hamlet. He has performed on many of the world's leading stages - at Glyndebourne, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Opernhaus Zürich, Komische Oper Berlin, the San Francisco Opera, Ballet, and Symphony, Los Angeles Opera, and Houston Grand Opera; and he has appeared in concert with The English Concert, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Music of the Baroque, Apollo’s Fire, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
