Asa Daniels

Though best known as leader of <a href="spotify:artist:4kwLF73fZC8zaZI5rwbBQV" data-name="Gooseberry">Gooseberry</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6Tg8TeVOzodPBMpgRXvxu0" data-name="Baked Goods">Baked Goods</a>, songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Asa Daniels was humming melodies before he could walk. Daniels came into the world with an instrument in hand; more or less literally. Born into a long line of musicians, Daniels was surrounded by music (like cousins <a href="spotify:artist:0Aev3tJ4D1LLfG6q9f7fkP" data-name="Maybird">Maybird</a>).

He formed his first band, <a href="spotify:artist:6Tg8TeVOzodPBMpgRXvxu0" data-name="Baked Goods">Baked Goods</a>, at fifteen. Under the guide of <a href="spotify:artist:7bIUr1AbuaKHbXlQxfBR6o" data-name="Richie Cannata">Richie Cannata</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:6zFYqv1mOsgBRQbae3JJ9e" data-name="Billy Joel">Billy Joel</a>), and they soon utilized his studio. Along with co-founder/musical confidante, Dan Janis, Daniels brought Baked Goods&#39;s sounds of jazz, funk, and rock to college crowds all along the eastern seaboard, ultimately leading to multiple tours and multiple Musikfest performances.

In 2019, Daniels founded alt rock outfit <a href="spotify:artist:4kwLF73fZC8zaZI5rwbBQV" data-name="Gooseberry">Gooseberry</a>. The band has grown a devoted fanbase and has earned features in revered outlets like Under The Radar and Ones to Watch. The summer of 2023 saw the release of the bombastic <a href="spotify:album:1NmqHyT8Rp8iyDMEpYc4JQ" data-name="Validate Me">Validate Me</a>, supported by a massive two-month tour across the U.S. and Canada, including a headline show at the legendary Bowery Ballroom. Since its release, Validate Me has amassed a half-million streams and counting.

On March 1st, 2022, Daniels found himself performing on The Tonight Show with <a href="spotify:artist:7mAcgRMD6EfCKHO6cIkDOP" data-name="Jimmy Fallon">Jimmy Fallon</a>. Daniels the solo artist had always been a distant second to Daniels the frontman. Suddenly, he was thrust into the forefront, seen by millions around the world in an instant.
