Asela Perera is an Indie singer/songwriter from Colombo, Sri Lanka. His work includes three EPs and three full length albums, the last of which, Chasing Joy, was released in 2023. Asela's music has been featured on notable platforms such as BBC Radio and Rolling Stone India.
Asela has always been curiously drawn to existential questions such as "why are we here?", "What is our purpose in
all this?". Just a few of the very lighthearted questions that he seems to have on his regular Saturday night
programming. So, it only makes sense at this specific point in his life, where avenues of eventual change seem to be knocking on his
door, that what he writes and sings about reflects that contemplative sentiment. The limbo wherein we try to come to terms with what our true purpose might possibly be.
And that's how this new single came to be. "Forever" comes out on 15th October 2024.
