Born out of Campinas, Brazil in late 2013, Asfixia originally began operations as a Metallica tribute band named 'Unforgiven'. In early 2014, they decided they wanted something more: to write their own brand of Thrash Metal and leave their mark on the Brazilian underground scene. After three years of building up their independent recording studio and enduring some lineup changes, Asfixia released in March 2017 their debut album, 'Tormenta', a labor of love which fuses the blistering speed of Thrash with the complex rhythms and melodies of Progressive Metal.
