An MC whose style can only be described as authentic, rapper Ashbash hit the scene in 2015 with the release of her “All I Need Is A Minute” mixtape, with each track showcasing her clever wordplay and classic punchlines, all in under a minute.
Born Ashley Sanders, the Inglewood native took inspiration from artists such as Missy Elliott, Meek Mill, and MC Lyte. She began rapping during her teenage years in the era of dance crews and battle dancing, stating that she wanted to make the music that they dance to.
After suffering major setbacks in her personal life, including the passing of her father, Ashbash dedicated her focus to music and gained traction with the release of the songs “Red Homies” and “Bag Chaser,” all leading up to a sold out concert at the famous Belasco Theatre in downtown Los Angeles making her the first female, independent artist to do so.
Her latest EP “Ashley vs Ashbash” is set for release this upcoming February. ~ Kim Belcher
