Portland musician Jay Clarke (the Standard, Dolorean) started making music under the pseudonym Ash Black Bufflo in the early 2000s. Under this alias, Clarke, who also has played live shows with Grails and Holy Sons, takes a break from indie/post-rock and concentrates on thick soundtrack music with an electronic slant. After scoring the 2010 documentary Marwencol, Clarke finished his debut Ash Black Bufflo album, Andasol, which was released in 2011 by Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory Records. ~ Jason Lymangrover
