"Coming up, you couldn't do both. Motherf*****s wasn't trying to hear that... not even me," claims Ashonte "Dolo" Lee speaking of his Hip Hop musical roots. The Columbus, Georgia native (who resides in Central Europe) has admittedly struggled with finding a comfort zone for the majority of his career. His uniquely malleable timber the self-proclaimed "rapper/producer-turned-everything else" has made a name for himself following head-turning run on Germany's version of The VOICE. Ironically, he'd actually gone there to end a frustrating career on a happier note. Rediscovering his love for the stage, it was not long before "Dolo" (his preferred moniker) was drafted into not one, but two bands. Picking up lead duties for european P-Funk affiliates Grand Slam [2013 Deutscher Rock & Pop preise] upon departure of singers Gary Mudbone Cooper and Robert Collins as well as co-fronting Gemini Music Entertainment, one of Europe's the most sought-after event bands. With 6+ years of touring steady and a gold plaque under his belt for his work on German emcee Kool Savas' "Märtyrer" album, Dolo has opted to embrace the full spectrum of his talents returning to his lyricist roots as well as singing, producing, songwriting, consulting and touring with TANQUORAY, a trio comprised of Grand Slam founding member Toby "Cosmic Pope" Mayerl and Michael "<a href="spotify:artist:26PkB6yvg3kqtP1JTfNnx5" data-name="Don Michon">Don Michon</a>" Deiml of Los Dos y Compañeros. Ashonte Lee is, as they say, finally going for Dolo.
