The listener encounters an entirely wintry atmosphere, and music born out of frustration and the feeling of surrendering to a pre-apocalyptic violent society that eats its children. We’re buried in the debris of our own relationships with the people we see every day, neighbours, work colleagues, family, relatives, partners – each trying to stick to their respective personal survival methods in order to fight the feeling of drowning, like the spoon in your cereal bowl once the day starts. Total overload.
“CQDM” is an atmospheric synth album dealing with people in Donat’s everyday life – and Donat himself. A bleak statement that is as much self-therapy and a means to break free, as it is a document of self-destruction and hopelessness.
