The Isle of Man is as unlikely a place as any to spawn an eccentric musical duo, but college friends <a href="spotify:artist:5NFj3OL9XYtRo0caGbLUzG" data-name="Aaron Cottam">Aaron Cottam</a> and Jacob Bennett did just that, forming on a whim in 2017.
Taking elements from lo-fi electronic music and combining them with spacy guitar leads, floating bass lines and subdued, sometimes spoken-word vocals, Astasia crafted a unique style falling somewhere between post-rock and ambient hip-hop that has been dubbed "Post-Hop". Astasia released their first single, titled <a href="spotify:album:6IRCsjznt2vx8KPCbQ4M9b" data-name="I Need (Space)">I Need (Space)</a> at the end of September 2017 and began working on an EP immediately after its release.
Their debut EP - <a href="spotify:album:04eNUwfjlf3rmU63SHpqqq" data-name="...With Love">...With Love</a> - arrived at the beginning of 2018 and featured a remastered version of I Need (Space), as well as 4 other new tracks.
