Astral Fortress is a project created in January 2023 by Talamandas (Holy Martyr) and Enharioth (Shardana/The Blacktones).
The style of the music is a unique blend of old school Melodic Death and Black Metal, combined with experimental and avant-garde passages.
This peculiar approach makes the music still rooted in the scene of the 90’s, with powerful and melodic bands like Unanimated and Dissection, the minimalism of early Darkthrone and the straightforward assault of Morbid Angel as well.
Even the nickname was taken from the glorious past, inspired by the song “Enslaved from the Astral Fortress”, contained on the seminal album Vittra by Naglfar.
The lyrics are based on the world of Lovecraft, space, astrophysics and horror movies/books (the Lighthouse, Rosemary’s Baby), making the album grim, dark but at the same time cold and melodic.
On february 2024 Astral Fortress signed with Elevate Records, and on 5th of April of the same year, Spawn of the Stars is released on its store and by main digital streaming services
