Is this the part where I’m supposed to praise myself in third person? That feels weird.

So hey, my name’s Justin. I’m a twenty-five year old from Toronto, Canada. I started this project because I felt like I had something to express, and I hope that my music makes you feel something special. I write, record and (partially) produce my music from the comfort of my room.

Astral is a reference to a nonphysical realm with psychic and paranormal phenomena, where the physical human body is said to have a counterpart. I think the idea of having a magical version of yourself in another realm is really beautiful and powerful, so I adopted the name Astrls.

My debut EP ‘Sunshine State of Soul’ explores what I’ve come to believe are some of the major pillars of deep happiness. It touches on a profound strength found in community, the necessity of reflection alongside self-compassion, and the delicate nature of radical empathy. Through this journey I am eternalizing the ideas that felt deeply important in this period of my life, and developing a deeper understanding of what it is that truly warms my soul.
