A.thentic Jong Hee

I was born and raised in South Korea. In university, I studied classical composition while simultaneously playing in a rock band on campus. That band experience became a turning point, allowing me to merge pop music with the theoretical foundation of pure composition.

After graduating, before studying abroad in the U.S., I worked as a composer and arranger for K-Pop music in Seoul. I also worked as a session musician, recording piano and keyboards in various studios. Later, I moved to the U.S. and pursued a master's degree at New York University, where I deepened my studies in classical and 21st-century contemporary music. At the same time, I took jazz classes at the university, which led me to explore jazz—especially the unique sound of New York jazz. I will never forget the profound experience of watching Chick Corea perform live at Blue Note near my school.

After completing my master's degree, I returned to Korea and taught applied music at a university. I also worked on theater music and film scores, particularly for indie films. In 2017, I released my first instrumental single, 'On My Way to You', in the electronic genre under my artist name, 'A.thentic Jong Hee'.

Since 2023, I have been consistently releasing at least one single every month. Unless I’m working on a major project, I am committed to keeping up this release schedule. Until the day my music is loved by so many people, I will continue this journey.
