Pop vocalist and songwriter Aubrey O'Day grew up as a stage performer and attended the University of California, Irvine, where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science. A few years later, she auditioned for the third season of Diddy's Making the Band television series and was the first singer to become a member of the group the show spawned, Danity Kane. Unhappy with O'Day's behavior, Diddy kicked her out in 2008, after she recorded two albums with the group. Stage performances, acting roles, and various television appearances followed. She signed a solo recording deal in 2011 with the Universal Motown-affiliated SRC but competed unsuccessfully on Donald Trump's The Celebrity Apprentice prior to releasing her debut EP, Between Two Evils, in August 2013. The content was characteristically brash dance-pop. Danity Kane briefly reconvened with O'Day and released DK3 in 2014. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
