Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is a psychological theory that categorizes human needs into a pyramid-shaped hierarchy. Once these basic requirements are met, we move up to the safety needs, which involve seeking physical safety and emotional security in our lives. Above safety needs are the social needs, which pertain to our desire for belonging and love, such as forming relationships and being part of a community. Once we establish these connections, we then strive for self-esteem, which includes achieving recognition, respect, and a sense of accomplishment. At the pinnacle of the hierarchy is self-actualization, representing the aspiration for personal growth, self-fulfillment, and realizing one's potential. This framework offers insight into what motivates people and helps us understand the complex interplay of human desires and aspirations.
