Augusto Cantoral is a Mexican composer and pianist whose music flows between the atmospheric, the romantic, and the experimental. His style, described as “pure romance,” is an eclectic language shaped by influences like Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, and Philip Glass — blending emotional harmonies with minimalism and modern textures.
His work has premiered at major festivals such as *Aires* (Mexico City), featuring *Campanas de viento* (2023) and *Paisaje Sonoro No. 1, Tormenta* (2024), as well as the *12th INBAL-SACM Autumn Festival*, where *Amour passé* was performed by pianist Abd El Hadi Sabag.
Graduated with honors from FAMUNICACH, Cantoral combines classical writing with extended techniques, sonic landscapes, and digital experimentation. He currently works as a performer, researcher, and teacher.
