Aurie

Born and raised in Nairobi Kenya, Aurie (aww-ree) popularly nicknamed 'Aurieo' - is a singer-songwriter, recording, and performing artist. Her entry into the creative sector was through theatre and performance arts, having starred in award winning musicals; curated and produced by locally renowned theatre groups.

Aurie's passion was in singing and songwriting, leading her to also pursue a solo music career in 2015. She emerged on the scene with her debut singles, Fanya Mambo, Take Me Away and Never Ever.

In 2021, she released her EP, Aurientation, an afro urban pop of delight. Through the music, she shares the lessons she continues to learn in life about love and friendship. She daringly invents the wheel, infusing soulful vocals and witty lyricism; 'aurienting' her audience and new listeners alike.

The release of TLC (No Love Lost), the first single off her debut album, S'tori, propels her further into her musical career. It is a moving single that calls us to be true to ourselves, even in grief.

This release has since been followed by Cosmic Revolution, a song that highlights the plights imposed on people by individuals and systems of power. The song also calls to people to take up their space in the world and look out for one another, regardless of their status in life.

Her theatre and dance background meld with her natural charisma to draw in crowds. She’s at home in the spotlight and has the uncanny ability to engage her audience and pull them into her world.
