Aurora Vice are a duo based out of Los Angeles, CA whose music juxtaposes melodic shimmering vocals and top lines with dark menacing textures. They move fluidly between genres fusing aspects of hip hop, trap, and pop to create their dark and brooding tones.
On a fateful day at a baby’s first birthday party, Vocalist/Rapper Arpineh and Producer/Vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:1xE1szTz8KfS1w3OnyiK8x" data-name="Henri Martel">Henri Martel</a> met when their relatives were talking each one up to the other. They formed a 4 person band and played together around the Los Angeles area at various venues like Whiskey A Go Go and the House of Blues.
After the departure of their guitarist and drummer, the duo's fresh start brought on an equally fresh sound as Aurora Vice set out to record their next EP, <a href="spotify:album:4vLjIivEeD9nuIbPlMj0uA" data-name="Manic">Manic</a> in the fall of 2017. Released in the summer of 2018, the new EP brought forth a combination of rap and hip hop fused with melodic pop vocals and synth-heavy production layered on top of dark, rich, bass lines. With a new aesthetic entrenched in brooding visuals, Aurora Vice put forth a new world of contradicting ideas that come together in harmony.
