Austin Basham

Rooted in an innate curiosity for and technical execution of unconventional sources of sound, Austin Basham transcends the traditional folk singer-songwriter genre by showcasing an imaginative range of self-taught instrumentation. Self-described as “a soundtrack to everyday life,” Basham’s music is a unique synthesis of intricately layered melodies, echoing harmonies, and refreshing candor that evokes a passed-down authenticity by taking listeners along on his journeys of both artistic and personal evolution.

Basham’s inaugural release Linton / / Oslo EP (2016), aptly titled for recording sessions across the pond, was heralded by Clash Magazine as “sonically gorgeous.” In 2018, he released his full-length debut via Nettwerk Music Group. You and Me for Now; was recorded between Oslo, Vancouver, and Austin, with the vast majority of instrumentation done by Basham himself. He subsequently co-headlined a North American tour with Hollow Coves, playing in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and New York, among others. He has new music on the horizon.
