Autorub, based out of NY, offers up a great mix of modern and classic sounds in rock, coupled with sarcastic political humor. Their new release, the mini concept EP "Women of the Right" drops 7/21/23.
Autorub is led by multi-instrumentalist Michael Corn. Corn, a former member of the short-lived post-grunge band 'Sammy' [Geffen], and the critically acclaimed 'Heydevils,' continues to compose relevant, catchy and just plain fun rock and roll. Corn also composed for popular TV shows like "Pawn Stars," "Wahlburgers" and "Duck Dynasty."
The new EP is another incredibly fun and fast listen that leaves you wanting even more. The band sets their sights this time on election denier Kari Lake, who apparently has blocked Autorub on Twitter! The band also takes aim at America's obsession with guns, in particular women who love to tote them and why.
The music is a hybrid of hard driving modern and classic rock, with infectious melodies and grooves that suck you in from beat 1 and do not relent. Influences are broad, spanning decades of rock from classic to modern. You might hear some Weezer, Foo-Fighters, or Green Day mixed with classics like the Stones, the Who, the Police, Hendrix and Sabbath.
"Women of the Right," much like Autorub's previous releases, contains clever songwriting and well produced and performed music that takes you on a little adventure, all in the space of six minutes.
