Awkward Silence
"For us, when the music stops, there's an Awkward Silence."
BAND MEMBERS
Sidhant Bakshi - Vocals and Guitars: A digital wizard in the day and a crooner at night. He leads our band with fervour and is honest to a fault.
Nishat Chaddha - Keys - Goes from producing music to teaching students to running for band practice.
Prashant Sukumar - Vocals and Guitars - With age comes wisdom and calm, and also marriage. Holding it all together when holding on to the train from Malad to Bandra, he keeps us all together with his hooks.
Yash Rohra - Bass - The bass guitar is his guru and he is its most faithful disciple. His voice notes are sometimes better than the bass notes.
Swapnil Dhawale - Drums - A student at True School Of Music, drummer with bands like Kirdaar, Balalaika, Swapnil ensures that Awkward Silence doesn't stay silent with
their sound.
To elaborate:
In the winter of 2014, we met in Bandra, Mumbai. We started with open mic events and doing all the gigs we could find. And finally, we got ourselves our first paid gig at The Hive in Bandra. Our music talks about things that people don't openly talk about. The emotions that people are afraid to express. We want to liberate our audience with our music by emancipating listeners and breaking the chains that prevent people from dealing with things that aren't such a big deal in reality.
