Awno Josué is an author, producer, and performer. He was born in 1993 in Les Abymes, a city in the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe.
After participating in a music production workshop in 2011 in Grand Camp, a suburban area of Les Abymes, he decided to set up his own home studio. In this studio, an artistic crew consisting of several youths from the neighborhood was born as 142 Désibèl.
In 2014, Awno moved to France to pursue his studies at the SAE Institute, where he was trained as a sound technician.
In January 2018, his album Kolibri Mò Brilé, featuring 12 tracks that depict various aspects of his environment, was released. Around the same time, Awno began practicing the KA drum with the Guadeloupean cultural movement Akiyo.
In 2019, reflecting a desire to be more authentic, he decided to no longer use the moniker EMS and adopted the name Awno instead. That same year, Frékans, the first album from 142 Désibèl, was released and presented live at the Felix Proto Cultural Palace in Les Abymes.
As projects continued to unfold, during the COVID-19 pandemic Awno teamed up with Nomis, another member of 142 Désibèl, to work on the album Evanescence Infinie.
In early 2022, with a desire to combine Rap and Gwoka (a local music genre), Awno co-founded the group Konplo A Nèg (KAN). he also made the decision to end his activities at 142 Désibèl studio, and embark on a solo career as Awno Josué.
