their work as a producer, songwriter and vocalist is decidedly more introspective, borrowing textures and tones from the club to craft songs from the heart. their 2020 debut <a href="spotify:album:5NyTznjoi3R7pvCi8rVecE" data-name="Affection">Affection</a> drew inspiration from classic synthpop &amp; ethereal electronica, sounds that were further explored on their shoegazey 2021 single <a href="spotify:track:5pV1K3V7jhyZiQebpE6qWm" data-name="Architecture">Architecture</a>. 2022 saw the release of <a href="spotify:track:2izuHSNHQaN3RyMibj3Mhs" data-name="Ride">Ride</a>, <a href="spotify:album:7imZX1Qdd5kgZshAUOp7l7" data-name="☆ club awwful ☆">☆ club awwful ☆</a> and <a href="spotify:track:4ipvZye8119eO7BJaqgfpL" data-name="butterfly">butterfly</a>, further establishing Awwful’s signature brand of new wave rave pop ☆

in 2022, Awwful was the supporting act for <a href="spotify:artist:4ukk0IyB7vL97QirpOcNr3" data-name="Alice Glass">Alice Glass</a> at her Montréal stop on the Traumabond tour. in 2023, they opened for <a href="spotify:artist:0nZHjqvdLoBy50ZzUH5FNU" data-name="Cecile Believe">Cecile Believe</a> as part of the Club SAT series. Later that year, they made their Boiler Room debut, DJing to a sold-out crowd at Montréal’s iconic Saint-Catherine Hall (fka Circus). in 2024, they opened for <a href="spotify:artist:0auP293abZeTWwMUi3fZw2" data-name="horsegiirL">horsegiirL</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:41y1iPh0WqB7tyGdzyeinZ" data-name="Blue Hawaii">Blue Hawaii</a> at their respective Montréal shows ☆
