‘SAUDADE’ marks a bold new chapter in Ax’s discography.
The singer-songwriter and producer continues to evolve, unveiling a full-length album that embraces a more pure and authentic sound. Staying true to his roots of catchy choruses and intricate pop production, Ax effortlessly weaves Latin-Urban and Jazz influences into this new body of work — while adding an unexpected twist by sampling elements of classical music.
Following the regional success of ‘lunar eclipse’ and the nominated track ‘mucho gusto’, Ax teams up once again with Cheyenne on ‘TENTAÇÃO’, revealing a more mature and sensual sound.
‘SAUDADE’ also welcomes a host of collaborators: Dyonne (known from ‘dancin’ in the rain’), GinKo, and rising talents Lin Naomi, Alma, Uli, and Terri. A special highlight is the contribution of Alina Lin-Jong — former violinist of André Rieu — whose playing brings cinematic depth to the album. Christian, the virtuoso saxophonist from Guido’s Orchestra, adds a warm, jazzy atmosphere throughout.
Named after the untranslatable Portuguese word “saudade”, the album captures the bittersweet beauty of longing — a deeply introspective journey through themes of loss, distance, desire, and love.
