AYA MAI is a Danish pop artist, singer, and songwriter with roots in gospel, jazz, and soul. Raised in a music-filled gospel church, she began training her voice early and stepped onto professional stages before her teens — including the X Factor Denmark finale at age 12.
Her sound blends emotional honesty with sleek pop production, shaped by years of live experience and songwriting across genres. A stay in New York deepened her creative voice, and since signing with GL Publishment in 2020, she’s written for a range of international projects — from EDM to multi-platinum K-pop releases.
As a solo artist, AYA MAI launched her pop project in 2021, earning placements on New Music Friday DK and NMF Norway, national airplay on P4, and a European tour supporting Novo Amor.
Inspired by Astrid S, Julia Michaels, and LEON — and vocally shaped by her lifelong idol Whitney Houston — AYA MAI brings heartfelt storytelling and vocal power to every track.
