Ayla Dunes is the alter ego of singer/songwriter Dunja Mees with Belgian/Surinamese roots.
In 2014 Dunja made her appearance on The Voice Of Flanders. Four coaches turned their chair and she even made it to the finals: the beginning of a promising career.
In the aftermath, she developed her stage skills, performing with her own band and appearing in various musical projects. While studying jazz and singing at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, she started writing her own music, improving her vocal skills and discovering her own, genuine sound.
