Writing in the desert of Kuwait has clearly influenced Singer/Songwriter Oliver Borrow (AKA Azumini). You get that sense of isolation in his music but far from being melancholic it's beautiful and gushing with hope. This is rock, written to echo throughout stadiums.
Azumini writes and records on a laptop, whilst travelling across the Middle East and Asia. Blending guitars with vocals, synths and pre-sampled beats. He claims to be self taught and it's something that becomes evident the more you absorb yourself in his unusual chord structures. It's music that is initially disjointed and sometimes at odds with modern day pop music, but it grows on you and I have to admit, it's infectious!
Set up in 2015 ‘Azumini’ (The Blue River) self released debut LP ‘Last Fire Burning’ in February 2016 and second album 'Beyond the Desert Kush' followed in early 2017. Third album 'Daylight' dropped in mid 2018 and I'm told he's already written 3 more! Long may this river flow!
