More rock than jazz, jazzier than rock: The Berlin organ duo b3 combines intricate arrangements with strong melodies and delivers live performances filled with plenty of enthusiasm and groove. b3 mastermind Andreas Hommelsheim has played with notable figures such as Alphonse Mouzon, John Lee, and Gerry Brown, shared the stage with Kool & the Gang, and collaborated with stars like Nena, Nina Hagen, Jan Delay, Smudo, Max Raabe, Ofra Haza, Ute Lemper, and Jennifer Rush. As the musical director for the German versions of numerous famous film productions, he has worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Hans Zimmer, among others. He received a Gold Record as the producer of the German original soundtrack for "The Lion King." Drummer Lutz Halfter studied at the Berklee College in Boston, worked with various Berlin orchestras and theaters, and played drums for artists such as Jocelyn B. Smith and Precious Wilson. He has been sharing the stage with Hommelsheim since the 70s.
