Bààn is an instrumental duo initiated in Brussels by Pascal N. Paulus (keyboards) and Jean-Philippe De Gheest (drums). They knit ambient, psych, jazz and rock into an intoxicating musical blanket that gently wraps around you and slowly lets you drift to a different universe.
Pascal N. Paulus is known as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, performer and producer collaborating on many projects such as Melanie De Biasio, La Jerôme, Kris Dane, etc. For many years Jean-Philippe De Gheest has worked with Mark Lanegan, the American singer-songwriter and ex-member of Queens of the Stone Age. He’s also a member of the impro-trio "Piloot".
Both of Bààn members are thoroughly influenced by jazz and its broad ramifications. The music turns out to be a crossover between psychedelic and trance, creating ambient soundscapes.
