London, England's Babs Savage is a neo-soul/pop singer and songwriter with a background in jazz and cabaret performance. In the mid-2010s, Savage sought out Chicago producer Rickey Rainbow to help fine-tune her sound for recording, and in 2015 they released the single "La La," an approachable, scratch-dotted dance-club cover version of the 1968 <a href="spotify:artist:6YPRXu1dazGYcSZv4HJEH4">Delfonics</a> hit "La La Means I Love You" that incorporated samples of the original.
