Baby Kahlo

Baby Kahlo, also known as Kahlo Muerto, is one of Baltimore’s rising rap artists. Inspired by the style and art of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Baby Kahlo commands attention from everyone anytime she enters a room with her vibrantly colored hair, choker necklaces, and her glam goth attire.

Growing up, Kahlo’s mother did not allow her to listen to much Hip Hop and R&B. However, her father was a well-known DJ in the Baltimore area in the 90’s. Kahlo would see him on the weekends, and he would insist on teaching her the history of Hip Hop and Soul music. From there, her love for the music began and she could not go a day without listening. She would listen to her favorite songs and perform along with the tracks as if she was filming the video herself.

Her own music is inspired by the likes of 2Pac, DMX, and Willow Smith. It’s sharp, but playful with her flirtatious, yet fiery, lyrics. Kahlo released her debut single, “Kahlo’s Freestyle,” in February of 2017. Since then, she has gone on to perform for numerous events in Baltimore, Philly, New York, DC, Atlanta, LA, and Virginia. In June of 2018, Baby Kahlo was apart of Atlanta artist, Bali Baby’s Play Girl World Tour. Baby Kahlo was a 2018 & 2019 official artist at A3C Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. Baby Kahlo also performed on Boiler Room in Baltimore in 2019. In 2020 Baby Kahlo starred in a commercial for SoundCloud and appeared on Red Bull Music. Baby Kahlo teases a new tape to be released early 2021.
