For over a decade, Washington, D.C. based artist Baby Weight has been stunning dancefloors. Known for her signature genre bending sound, dynamic DJ sets, and outspoken advocacy, she has earned co-signs from artists like Fatboy Slim, Walker & Royce, LP Giobbi, Justin Martin, Chris Lorenzo, Nicole Moudaber, VNSSA, and has performed at notable festivals including Coachella, EDC, SXSW, Lightning in a Bottle, Firefly, and Dirtybird Campout.
In 2017, she co-founded the indie record label Chub Rub which she uses to showcase emerging talent across the house music spectrum. 2019 saw the release of her freshman album, ‘<a href="spotify:album:1QqCGAVXJ6hLYcj7z2lt1L" data-name="Phases">Phases</a>,' which debuted on Beatport’s top 10.
In 2020, she came out as trans citing a need to transition in both her private and artist life. Later that year, she had her first Beatport #1 with the release of ‘<a href="spotify:album:76EOVbRIXm8MRy1AZ94pUi" data-name="Rave Police">Rave Police</a>.' In 2021, she participated in Mixmag’s ‘Impact’ series calling her “resolutely anti-bullshit and pro fun.”
2022 was a breakout year with multiple high profile releases including ‘<a href="spotify:album:0zZWFJeJZoYhyw0U2aZhh2" data-name="House Princess">House Princess</a>' which was featured in Calvin Klein’s Pride campaign. In 2023, she was named by DJ Mag and The Blessed Madonna as an “artist to watch” leading to a nomination for “Breakthrough DJ of the Year.” This momentum continued with ‘<a href="spotify:track:5jVLztdESUtJqvRVD9PDKi" data-name="Slay 4 Me (feat. Jesse Fields)">Slay 4 Me (feat. Jesse Fields)</a>' garnering heavy support from BBC Radio 1, Defected, and Ministry of Sound.
