Gracie Chen and Paul Layton crossed paths in a 2019 art school synth design class, sparking an instant connection over their shared obsession with punk and new wave-think Siouxsie Sioux and the Damned. From their Los Angeles Studio they formed Bad at Boys, with Gracei’s razor-sharp vocals and Paul’s gritty guitar riffs driving their sound. Holed upon a cluttered space filled with analog synths and and battered amps, they craft tracks that blend raw pulse of punk with a modern edge. Based in the heart of LA’s chaotic sprawl, Bad At Boys channels the city’s underbelly-its faded glamour, late night dinners and restless spirit-into songs that feel like confessions scratched into a barroom table. With a loose crew of musicians adding bass and beats, Gracie and Paul obsess over every detail, building a sound that’s as much a love letter to their influences as it is a middle finger to polished pop.
