Belfast’s Bad Boat set sail 2002 and instantly became renowned for their live shows, once described as ‘teetering on the thin line between catastrophic and stratospheric‘.
The second of two demos ‘Breathing Space‘ made ‘Demo of the Month’ in Metal Hammer in 2005 who described their sound as ‘A rough and sandy noise that stands somewhere between Fu Manchu and Cathedral‘.
Debut album ‘Blues Gone Black‘, (a term loosely defining their style) was then released in 2006 on Rundown Records.
A half studio and half live E.P called ‘Lonely Doom‘ was quickly put together to coincide with a tour in 2009.
After many shows sharing stages with the likes of Orange Goblin, Hermano, Brant Bjork and Eric Bell the band parted ways for an unavoidable three year hiatus when Tom joined the band Howlin Widow.
In 2012 on request of vinyl only label Freak Flag Records ‘Lonely Doom‘ was given a proper release and having garnered fantastic reviews from all over the world, this prompted the band to return finally completing their second full length album ‘Drown The Phoenix’ in 2019.
