This is Bad Mums, Meanjin’s cutest queer alt-rock trio. Having taken Meanjin by storm in 2022, playing with the likes of Hope D, SAMMM., Lounge, as well as taking part in the first Wild Jasmine Festival, Bad Mums shows no signs of slowing down in 2023 and beyond. With lyrics comparable to poetry, guitar tones only spoken of in legend, and drum lines that will leave your jaw on the floor, you would be remiss to pass up on their first release. Influenced by acts such as Radiohead, Beabadoobee, Muse, Seether, Violent Soho, Eliza & The Delusionals, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and countless others, their unique sound is designed to both intrigue and stun the listener. The band, comprised of Kiko (they/them) on bass/vox, Jarred (he/him) on guitar and Nikolai (they/them) on drums, promises to deliver the most captivating live performance out there.
