Self-taught maverick producer, vocalist, and songwriter, Ballast, began his musical journey at the tender age of 7 when we found solace in tapping rhythms on anything within reach. Though, it wasn’t until his teenage years where Ballast truly found his calling. A chance encounter with a friend's DJ decks ignited a passion for music production. Armed with little more than determination and a pirated music production program, Ballast immersed himself in the art of mixing, honing his craft through the vast expanse of the internet's free resources.

His debut EP ‘Everything Is Art’ [2025] exposed a deeply personal side of Ballast’s world. The tracklist traces the defining and pivotal experiences from his past, touching on themes of self-loss and rediscovery, tightening his inner circle, and learning to put himself first. The emotionally immersive soundscapes and lyrics built from raw emotion in ‘Everything Is Art’ cements Ballast’s visual and sonic identity.

Promising continued versatility and boundary-pushing production, his textured, introspective work draws from experimental electronic roots while taking clear inspiration from infectious pop hooks and the high octane energy of rap.
