Dynamic, explosive and invigorating, Banana Suicide Forest is a 5-piece progressive metal outfit from Singapore. Ripping apart boundaries by welding together technical chordal guitar riffs, hard hitting drum grooves and ambient elements, the result is an avant-garde, unique fusion of heaviness and serenity.
Formed in 2016, Banana Suicide Forest consists of vocalist Josias Lim, guitarists Michelle Quek and Dominic Yuan, bassist Kwa Jia Xuan and drummer Gavin Loo. In 2017, they were selected to be part of Noise Music Mentorship under the guidance of famous local prog guitarist Simon Yong. They have made a name in the live scene, playing along with acts such as Tell Lie Vision, Trust the Chaos and ORANGECOVE.
Their debut EP Origami Construct describes their take on societal problems such as depression and peer pressure, seeking to engage the listener with hope despite desperate circumstances while delving deeper into their journey of self-expression and discovery through music.
