(Bandang) Toyo

Yup! TOYO is a band of rock and roll crazed guys who simply love to play the blues and old-time classic rock from the ‘60s and ‘70s. TOYO was formed in 2006 and went into various transitions with different guitarists and session musicians (keyboardist, harpist, and saxophonist) from time to time.

In the spirit of Cream, one of the band’s greatest influences, TOYO established a solid three-piece act in 2008. In 2010, TOYO launched their first independent album “Sino Ba Naman ang Hindi Totoyoin?” – a 10-track CD of all original songs including the 2010 NU Rock Awards nominated song “Eleksyon Na Naman,” TOYO’s first single. In 2011, TOYO’s original guitarist left the group which became an opportunity for the band to experiment and transform their music.
Since then, TOYO has maintained its strong presence in the independent music scene working with different artists and transforming their music from angst-laden songs to more socially uplifting themes. Change definitely defines TOYO’s music in this new normal which the public can expect in their pandemic-inspired songs “Stay Home (We Shall Overcome)”and “Love and Peace for All.”
