Besides “Don’t Bother Me” is not the first song written by the singer, it was the chosen one to start her career as a songwriter. Her first single was one of “The Best Songs of the Week” in a local radio one week after being released. Still in 2015, her song was one of the semi-finalists in a Songwriting Competition called Song of The Year in the United States. It was also among “The 10 most played songs” in the BestRadio Brasil in June, 2016. In the same year, Barbara had her single selected by A.V.A Live Radio team from Los Angeles to be published on the page “The Voice of the New Music Generation” among other artists.
Her first EP, “BARBARA ROCHA”, has one of the most visceral and revealing songs of her career. The second single “Challenging love” and her EP came to start a new chapter in her life, more intimate and personal.
In her songs Barbara exposes her most vulnerable side – her truth and her weaknesses. She delivers to the audience her heaviest hidden fears and questionings, no filter included, no excuses about them. Her songs dialogue with the trapped silence within each one of us. With her guitar and a backup band she plays a mix of pop rock and folk rock. She connects sincere emotions, sometimes dark, twisty and melancholic, to her inspiration and deepest desire that everything is going to be all right. Barbara sings what moves and inspires herself telling everyone her biggest secret, the one in which she takes comfort in it every day… You are not alone.
